How to Use Price Protection on Archetype

Welcome back to Archetype my friends!

In this article, we’ll cover the process of using Price Protection while swapping tokens.

In order to use Price Protection, you’ll need a Smart Account — check out this article to get started with one. Let’s get into it!

Swapping With Price Protection

Step 1: Connecting to Archetype

First and foremost, navigate to app.archetype.blue and connect your browser wallet on Arbitrum.

Step 2: Choosing a token to send

Next, choose the token you wish to send.

Step 3: Choosing a token to receive

Now it’s time to choose which token to receive. Keep in mind that the available protection deadlines vary by token. Here’s a list of tokens that currently have Price Protection available:

ETH, wETH, wstETH, WBTC, ARB, SOL, LINK, MAGIC, PREMIA.

Step 4: Price Protection deadline

After choosing which token to receive, you’ll need to toggle on Price Protection by flipping the switch. This is also where you get to choose a duration for your protection.

Choose the duration you want to use and click on ‘Review Trade’.

Step 5: Confirmation

It’s time to review the details of your trade. This is also where you’ll see the cost of your Price Protection. After double-checking, press the big blue button, and confirm the trade inside your wallet.

Once you’ve approved the transaction inside your wallet, the transaction will be queued. When successful, you’ll see a pop-up that looks a little like this. Here you can choose to make a new swap, or view your protection inside the portfolio tab

Step 6: Claiming Price Protection

Upon reaching the Price Protection deadline, you'll be able to claim a potential payoff inside the Portfolio tab available from the top-right corner.

If your protection hasn’t expired (like mine in the screenshot below), this is also where you can check on your active protection(s).

That’s it, you’re done with your protected swap!
