How to Swap on Archetype

Step-by-step guide to swapping tokens on Archetype using browser wallets and Smart Accounts

Welcome back to Archetype my friends!

In this article, we’ll cover the process of swapping tokens on Archetype using both a browser wallet and a Smart Account.

If you wish to swap using Price Protection, you’ll need a Smart Account — check out this article to get started with one. Let’s get into it!

Swapping With a Browser Wallet

Step 1: Connecting to Archetype

First and foremost, navigate to app.archetype.blue and connect your browser wallet on Arbitrum.

Step 2: Choosing a token to swap

Next, choose the tokens you wish to swap. Tokens that have Price Protection available are visible at the top, but this feature is only available with Smart Accounts.

Step 3: Price Quotes and Confirmation

This is where you’ll be able to see different prices from different exchanges across Arbitrum. Archetype chooses the best quote automatically, so all you have to do is click on ‘Review Trade’

Step 3: Confirmation

It’s time to review the details of your trade, press the big blue button, and confirm the trade inside your wallet.

Once you’ve approved the transaction inside your wallet, the transaction will be queued. When successful, you’ll see a pop-up that looks a little like this. Here you can choose to make a new swap, or view your protection inside the portfolio tab

Swapping With a Smart Account

Step 1: Setting up a Smart Account on Archetype

If you want to use Price Protection and other cool features on Archetype, you’ll need to deploy a Smart Account. See how to do just that (and deposit tokens) here.

Step 2: Choosing a token to swap

Now that you have a Smart Account and you’ve deposited some funds, you can get to swapping. Start by choosing the tokens you wish to swap. Tokens with Price Protection are visible at the top of the list.

Step 3: Choosing Price Protection (or none)

In this case, I’ll swap some ETH for SOL using a 1-week Price Protection deadline. To learn more about Price Protection, see this article.

Step 4: Confirmation

Next, click on ‘Review Trade’ to see the details of your swap. As a sidenote, slippage can be adjusted in the settings.

Once you’ve approved the transaction, the transaction will be queued. When successful, you’ll see a pop-up that looks a little like this. Here you can choose to make a new swap, or view your protection inside the portfolio tab

That’s it, you’re done with your swap!
