How to Swap Cross-chain on Archetype

Welcome back to Archetype everyone. In case you hadn’t noticed, Archetype has now gone cross-chain!

Users are able to swap across the most popular EVMs, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base. Click here to get started swapping cross-chain on Archetype.

It’s simple enough, but we understand that sometimes a little hand-holding is the key to success. So, today we’ll be breaking down the process of swapping & bridging cross-chain on Archetype. Let’s dive in!

How to Bridge & Swap Cross-chain on Archetype

Step 1: Connecting to Archetype

First and foremost, go to app.archetype.blue and connect your browser wallet.

Step 2: Choose the origin and destination chain

Click on the origin blockchain to find a list of networks supported by Archetype. Then, choose the chain you wish to bridge from.

Now, choose the chain you wish to bridge to. Tokens will be automatically sent to your address on the destination chain. In the future, users will be able to choose the destination address as well.

Step 3: Choosing the token to send and receive

After choosing the origin and destination chains, choose the token you wish to send. In this step, you also need to select which tokens to receive. In this case, I’ll swap USDC from Arbitrum to ETH on Base.

Step 4: Choosing the bridge route

Archetype will recommend the most optimal rate, but you can choose one manually from the list on the left. This is especially useful if you want to pick speed over optimal swap rate.

Step 5: Reviewing and confirmation

Once you’ve chosen the bridging route and which tokens to send and receive, click ‘Review Trade’.

Review the details of your swap, click ‘Swap’, and approve the transactions in your wallet.

Extra Step: Pending Bridge Transactions

Pending bridge transactions can be viewed by clicking the small bridge icon above the swap.

If any swaps are still processing, they can be viewed here. Remember that transactions may still show as pending for a few minutes after they’re finished, so the best way to ensure a swap has been completed is to simply check your wallet.

That’s it, you’re done with your first cross-chain swap on Archetype!
